Hark: a disruptive healthcare breakthrough

Blood tests. Patient reviews. These are the clinical tasks that populate every hospital, every day, every minute. Pagers, pen and paper can barely keep up. Hark transforms this process into a live digital stream, prioritising tasks and collecting a rich source of data for you to make smarter decisions.

Delegate tasks faster

Why wait for a colleague to respond to a pager? With Hark, you can send task details to the most appropriate clinician in less than 20 seconds. This frees up nurses and doctors to focus on their job instead of waiting by a phone.

Prioritise patients easier

Hospitals are rarely quiet. Every hour, you have to make dozens of decisions about which patient needs to see which clinician. Hark works all this out by logging patient location, physiological parameters, urgency of request and other valuable information. It reduces waiting time for patients and accelerates care for those who need it most.

Push analytics further

Data such as number of admissions and length of stay is easy to collect but difficult to act on. Hark gives you an insight into baseline activity way beyond traditional systems. You’ll be able to tap into advanced analytics algorithms to individually tailor every task to every patient’s need.

Hark helps teams communicate and collaborate

Hark isn’t just a taskmaster. It also helps members of the clinical team to collaborate and send messages using a fast and familiar interface. All communication is sent via secure on-site servers so you know exactly where your data is stored.

Hark helps teams perform to a higher level

We’ve pushed Hark hard for 4 years. In pilot studies at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust we’ve shown it can improve information transfer within clinical teams in 22 out of 24 key areas of your hospital. Our tests also prove Hark response times are 37% quicker than a pager.

Hark is personalised to each member of each team

Hark knows exactly who you are and what you do. Ward-based staff, doctors on the move, shift coordinators, hospital managers – you all require individual information all the time. Hark uses people-centric, context-specific interfaces via mobile. So, over time each person builds up a personal interface, adaptable to any site, need or patient.

Hark slots into your existing systems

Hark is new, yet compatible. It uses the latest security technology and has built in information governance since day one. Hark can work seamlessly with EHR systems such as Cerner.

Designed by an acclaimed team of clinicians, researchers and software developers

We put together a multidisciplinary team at Imperial College London to see what would happen. Professor Ara Darzi and Dr Dominic King, academic surgeons at Imperial who both work in the NHS, have led the project. Hark is the result of years of groundbreaking R & D in the hope we could make a difference to the world we work in.
